Joshua McCoy – Vice President, Creative Affairs

Joshua McCoy is an Associate Producer of Whorrible. Joshua was born and raised in Lexington, Kentucky.  Farm life gave him a respect and understanding of nature and the value of hard work.  His love of literature began at an early age and it came as no surprise to his friends and family when he began to write stories of his own. After a few years at the University of Kentucky as a student and disc jockey (WRFL), Joshua began to move about the country to see what life would bring.

For the last 10 years he has been in the service industry. Joshua was the Beverage Director for The Estate at Florentine Gardens (Rivervale, NJ), for 4 years controlling over $8 million of purchasing. He has opened numerous restaurants and organized the expansion of My Big Fat Greek Restaurants in the Phoenix Metro area. One of his screenplays, Banquet, found its way into the third Project Greenlight competition. He also produced and wrote the short film Light for the 48-hour Film Challenge in Phoenix. In 2007 Joshua joined Summitstar Films as a Writer/Producer. At Summitstar he was introduced to and learned about the realm of Independent Film Finance. Over the next two years Joshua developed, financed and produced a handful of shorts, commercials and features with Summitstar.

In 2009, Joshua left Summitstar to join Jackpot Pictures with his friend, Gregory Pellerito, as Vice President of Creative Affairs. Joshua has an active hand in all aspects of project development including but not limited to, script, finance, distribution, release strategy and long term market planning. Joshua serves as Assistant Director on our music video shoots and is one of the Supervising Producers on the Reality TV Series, “Everyone Has Their Price.” He also serves as First Assistant Director on “Everyone Has Their Price.”
